Shipment Delays
You can store information regarding shipment delays at the order type. The information stored at the order type directly influences the delivery data in the corresponding documents. This function is currently available in both service and sales orders. This chapter is divided into the following sections:

Storing Shipment Delay at Order Type
To store shipment delay information at the order type, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Order Types page.
- Navigate to the order type that you would like to add shipment delay information to. More information on creating order types can be found under Setting Up Order Types.
- Scroll to the Shipment Delay column.
- Enter a value for the shipment delay in this column, e.g., 3D for a delay of 3 days.
- Your entries are saved automatically.
You have successfully added shipment delay information to an order type.
Shipment Delay in Sales Orders
To use the shipment delay functionality in sales orders, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Sales Orders page.
- Click New in the menu bar to create a new sales order. More information on creating sales orders for machine sales processes can be found under
Sales Orders. More information on sales orders for inventory and parts processes can be found under
Sales Quotes & Sales Orders.

Open an existing sales order. - Complete the information in the header.
- In the Order Type field in the document header, enter an order type that you defined Shipment Delay information for.
You have successfully used the shipment delay function in a sales order. The shipment delay defined on the order type is added to the work date and the new date is displayed in the Requested Delivery Date field in the document header.
Shipment Delay in Service Orders
To use the shipment delay functionality in service orders, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Orders page.
- Click New in the menu bar to create a new service order. More information on creating service orders can be found under
Creating Service Orders.

Open an existing service order. - Complete the information in the header.
- In the Order Type field in the document header, enter an order type that you defined Shipment Delay information for.
- Add service lines to the document.
You have successfully used the shipment delay function in a service order. The shipment delay defined on the order type is added to the work date and the new date is displayed in the service lines and on the Service Item Worksheet in the Items Needed By Date field.
